"Da Silver Bow" is one of the oldest of the Shetland "listening" tunes in 2/4 time and the
key of C. Tom Anderson says this is
"from the playing of the late Peter Fraser, last of the line of noted fiddlers
from Finnigarth, Walls, to whom we are indebted for many of the old Norse melodies.
This tune bears a marked resemblance to the 'Springar' type of Hardanger fiddle music".
It is listed as a polka on thesession.org but it is strictly a listening tune.
It has the usual eight measures in the A part and an unusual 26 measures in the B part.
It was recorded by Tom Anderson & Aly Bain on The Silver Bow,
Catriona MacDonald on The Joy of It! and Aly Bain & Ale Möller on Fully Rigged.
