"Da Silver Bow" is one of the oldest of the Shetland "listening" tunes in 2/4 time and the<br> key of C. Tom Anderson says this is<br> "from the playing of the late Peter Fraser, last of the line of noted fiddlers<br> from Finnigarth, Walls, to whom we are indebted for many of the old Norse melodies.<br> This tune bears a marked resemblance to the 'Springar' type of Hardanger fiddle music".<br> It is listed as a polka on thesession.org but it is strictly a listening tune.<br> It has the usual eight measures in the A part and an unusual 26 measures in the B part.<br> It was recorded by Tom Anderson & Aly Bain on The Silver Bow,<br> Catriona MacDonald on The Joy of It! and Aly Bain & Ale Möller on Fully Rigged.<br>
